 | Everyone has probably heard of IT and Call Center operations being outsourced to India, but did you know that a large number of manhole covers in the United States actually get manufactured in India. A few weeks ago, I was walking in Los Angeles and saw a drain cover manufactured in India. |
Apparently over 600,000 manhole covers in the city of New York are manufactured in India, specially from West Bengal. This practice is not new but has been in existence for over 4 decades. Also, it looks like India is the world leader in manhole cover manufacturing, a little known fact. So the next time you walk over a drain cover in the US, it may have come from India. Miscellaneous Logos - Design and History

 | Being a parent, I was intrigued by the logo of the baby and child products company "The First Years". I see their products in the stores all the time. Their logo represents the three stages of a babies life to which the company's products dedicate themselves. The laying down baby is a newborn, the sitting up baby is an infant and the standing baby a toddler. |

Worlds Best Brands and Logos

 | Sirius Satellite Radio is one of two satellite radio services operating in the United States and Canada. Sirius provides multiple streams of music, sports, news and entertainment to listeners. The music streams are commercial free while the other entertainment has some commercials. |
The Sirius logo accroding to the Sirius website has its origins in the astronomy and mythology. Sirius is the brightest star in the Northern Hemisphere which is a great name given the company is in satellite radio. Also, it was named after the ancient Egyptian god Osirus, who was represented pictographically as a dog. Thats the reason, the dog and the star are part of the logo and Sirius is also referred to as the Dog Star. Car Logos - Design and History

I own a Toyota Camry and never gave much thought to what the logo meant. From far it looked like a T to me, which stood for Toyota. While doing the research for this logo, I found out that it is actually three elipses depicting the heart of the customer, the heart of the product, and the ever-expanding technological advancements and boundless opportunities that lie ahead.
I finally found the official explaination from Toyota, thanks to JoAnn Paules |
The current Toyota Mark consists of three ovals: the two perpendicular center ovals represent a relationship of mutual trust between the customer and Toyota. These ovals combine to symbolize the letter "T" for Toyota. The space in the background implies a global expansion of Toyota's technology and unlimited potential for the future.

An auto rickshaw (auto or rickshaw or tempo or tuk-tuk in popular parlance) is a vehicle for hire that is one of the chief modes of transport in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and is popular in many other countries. It is a motorized version of the traditional rickshaw, a small two- or three-wheeled cart pulled by a person, and the velotaxi.
A small number of auto rickshaws and tuk-tuks can be seen on the streets of China Town in London, although used mainly by tourists and not the local population. The auto rickshaw is also related to its Thai, Lao, Cambodian cousins, the tuk-tuk and the Bajaj in Indonesia, whereas in Brighton, England auto rickshaws are called tuctucs. | Comments (1) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 6436 | Print | E-mail | Read more... |
