Happy memories, especially KyKy, our beloved Head. I went back to see him in
42/43; by then I was in the Army. Adam McKay instilled us all with ethical
behaviour.
We had an Indian Gentleman; maths master, who made it so simple and
logical for all of us. A tall elegant Lady Teacher of English, whom all the
senior boys simply adored. A happy school where you enjoyed learning.
Founders
day we were entertained by \'Toc H\' & Feasted. null

getting out of school was a feeling we never anticipated...all the crazy things
that we did from bunking assembly to spending hours together just lying in the
sick room or loitering in the corridors, just never spared us the time to give
this thought a thought...that atmosphere was altogether just so magical...i was
much of a loner in the greater parts of my school life, but, i can still say
that those moments WERE magical...

1984 was a magical year. The year my graduation and Gamby's last year in
harness. Undoubtedly, the epitome of discipline and steadfastness, L. Gamelial
(I can still imagine him crouching with an outstretched ear in a bid to listen
to someone & of course, the legendary cane silhouetted in his sleeve). Gosh, he
may have been a terror during those days but I have yet to meet someone who does
not owe it to the Grand Old Man of Scottish for what he/she is today. Truly, a
3rd parent for all of us.
varadharajan  - MY best schooling years   |2008-09-23 02:39:08
Hi everybody,

I was in BSS for only two years (in class 11th & 12th between
1981 & 1983). At the same time, the school (its teachers, culture, classmates
etc.) had played a very major role in transforming my personality. I passed out
in 1983 as a very different & confident person purely due to the cooperation &
encouragement of everybody associated with this great institution. I miss u
BSS.

My father left the British Army and Joined the Bombay City Police and I was born
in Bombay in 1938.
I returned with my family to the UK in 1946 and during
that time I attended BSS (then called the Bombay Scottish Orphanage High School
under the headship of Adam Mackay).
Those days were the happiest of my life and
I long to return to the country of my birth and to BSS in particular.
Shivangi Mody  - Love you Scottish   |2009-11-22 10:03:32
My heart lies here at Scottish.
