For the first time both Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshdweep, the rare DXCC entities of India are to be activated simultaneously as part of NIAR Silver Jubilee celebrations.
It gives me a great pleasure in informing you that VU4 and VU7 will be activated again this year as part of NIAR Silver Jubilee Celebrations this year in October 2008.
The necessary clearances have been obtained the formal permission letter for VU4 and VU7 activity will be issued shortly.
We are pleased to inform you that NIAR renewing its commitment for fostering growth in amateur radio activity in India has decided to provide 25 amateur radio transceivers to deserving amateur radio clubs and Individual Hams who pledge to further promote the activity in their region.
We have extreame pleasure to announce that the effort behind our dream project have been a success, and recently we got the call sign for our dream repeater VU2DFD (Frequency 144.475 + Standard 600 kHz Shift).
The proposed new repeater will be erected in the eastern side of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala. Preliminary steps to erect the same have begun, and testing for critical reports, direction, fading, and sensitivity have started.
