MES's Pillais' College of Architecture, New Panvel organized its Second Graduating Trainees Placement Seminar at the college premises on Saturday, 15th December 2001.

Twelve prominent architectural firms from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Dombivili were represented in the Seminar, whose objectives were to conduct interviews, and offer placement to graduating trainees of Pillais' College of Architecture in their respective firms. Several firms, now part of PiCA's Placement Network placed students in their firms by invitation.

The full day programme included an exhibition of Final Year Architectural Theses (Design Dissertation) of the candidates. Architects, their representatives and guest professionals went through the exhibition and expressed satisfaction about the work done, and offered encouragement to the prospective architects. Personal Interviews were then conducted, and several candidates were offered placements. Many were invited to various architectural firms for second interviews. Feedback received from the participating firms has been uniformly generous and appreciative.

PiCA's Placement Programme is a first in any architecture college in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai. The planning of the programme and its eventual success are an ongoing part of achieving the objectives of the Pillais' College of Architecture: to impart quality architectural education, and also to guide its graduates into the profession.

The parent organization Mahatma Education Society extended its full cooperation and resources to help make this programme a success. PiCA Placements 2001 was supported by X-PiCAn, the Alumni organization of the Pillais' College of Architecture.

PiCA Placements 2001 is part of picadeca: the tenth year celebrations of Pillais' College of Architecture. top
