Photogallery
It took some time.
All right, it took far too
much time,
but I finished it anyway.
I try to take my camera along with me wherever I am. In practice this doesn't work--I have a Canon AE-1 and it weighs a tonne (I'm not joking!), so usually I carry my camera around with me when I expect something interesting to happen. I realised some time ago that interesting things don't just happen--you have to actively search for interesting subjects, and 'make them happen' i.e. flatter the subject.
The photogallery is pretty easy to follow, just stick to the general structure and you should be able to view all photographs at least once. I have divided the site into a small number of themes. I have taken so many photographs in different towns and countries--all during the past three years, that I thought it would get a little confusing if I simply mixed them all up.
For those interested: the earlier pictures have been taken using Hema 400 asa films and occasionally with a Hema 125 asa film. Around 1996 I started using the Ilford HP5 and Ilford XP2. Recently I have been trying out the Fuji Neopan 400, which is far superior to other emulsion films that I have used until now. The Hema 125 is worth experimenting with, but is only really useful for outdoor photography. Finding the right contrast for the XP2 has given me a headache in the past and I now prefer to avoid using dye films altogether.
