KARACHI, Pakistan, Sept 6 (Reuters) - South Africa have turned down a request from the Pakistan cricket Board to organise a one-day series this month, saying their players needed a rest after a hectic tour of England.

Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday announced that he is fit for the upcoming season, adding that he will take part in the Irani Trophy match ahead of the Test series against Australia next month.
