Seattle Space Needle Logo - Design and History

Space Needle Logo
Monument Logos

The Space Needle is Seattle is a landmark is Seattle. The Space Needle is a tower that measures about 605 ft from its base to the tip. The Space Needle was built in 1962. I was intrigued by the logo of the Space Needle on a recent trip to Seattle.

p>

The logo consists of an S at the top which represents Seattle. The top part of the  S is smaller that the bottom part of the S to represent the shape of  the tower itself. The top of the S also has a pointed needle. Two strokes of the brush are present at the bottom of the S to represent the tower. The text "space needle" is written in lower case on either side of the logo. I felt this is a very creative logo.

San Antonio Spurs Logo - Design and History

With the NBA playoffs for 2007 reaching its final stages, I thought I would research the logo of the San Antonio Spurs, one of the last 4 team still remaining in the playoffs. The Spurs are one of the hottest team in the NBA this decade having won 3 championships with their big stars Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.

The current logo of the Spurs is the word SpUrs with the letter U drawn as a silver spur.  It is also said that the outline of the logo is said to represent the AT&T center where the Spurs moved to in 2002-2003. The logo was unveiled at the same time as the move to their new home.

Papyrus Logo

Papyrus is a company in the US that sells products such as greeting cards, paper, bags, note cards, journals etc. Payprus stores can be found in quite a few malls in the United States. They have about 150 stores at this point. I purchase greetings from this store once in a while and they have a small note with every card telling the reason they chose to use the Hummingbird in their logo.

The note says

"Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration.  Hummingbirds open our eyes to the wonder of the world and inspire us to open our hearts to loved ones and friends.  Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and to savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday.  The hummingbird€™s delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life€™s sweetest creation.
